UAL’s Centre for Drawing takes over the National Gallery today for its annual Drawing Out conference.

Based on the premise that drawing is not simply a way of thinking and communicating but an integral part of our lives, the conference will explore how drawing is part of everyday literacy and information sharing.

Over three days, artists and academics from around the world will discuss the issues at the National Gallery, Chelsea College and Wimbledon College.

Speakers include Nicholas Penny, Director of the National Gallery, Georg Gartner, President of the International Cartographic Association, and Stephen Farthing, Professor of Drawing at University of the Arts London and organiser of Drawing Out.
