Rising design talent gets a helping hand from SAS

Award winning design agency SAS have awarded bursaries totalling £10,000 to students at Chelsea. By nurturing emerging creative talent at the College, the scholarship programme will ensure that the UK remains at the forefront of the design industry.

Second year BA Graphic Design Communication students Charlie Patterson, Charlotte Handcock and Don Ackerman, each receive £5000, £3000 and £2000 respectively towards their fees for the final year of their studies. The three were recognised for showing creative excellence in their second year live projects while demonstrating critical thinking and the ability to extend their knowledge and skills to real live practical briefs.

Geoff Thomas-Shaw, Course Director of BA Graphic Design Communication at Chelsea College of Art and Design, says “This will enable students to acquire greater confidence in focusing on their studies within the latter stage of the BA programme. SAS wish to support the next generation of graphic design and communication talent whilst ensuring they acquire an essential skills set based upon professional practice and critical engagement
