Congratulations to Camberwell College of Arts 2013 MA Printmaking graduate Jude Cowan Montague who has won this year’s Gwen May RE Prize from the Royal Society of Painter-Printmakers. The prestigious prize allows her to use the initials ARE as an Associate Member of the Society, which was first founded as the Society of Painter Etchers and Engravers in 1880.

The Society funds two student winners by £500 annually for two years in order to support their ongoing development as printmaking artists.

Jude is planning to put her prize money towards buying pigments, papers and tools and becoming a keyholder of the Thames Barrier Printmaking Studios. Her next solo exhibition draws on her research into Roman heritage in East London and will show at the Brady Arts Centre, E1 in April. She is also entitled to exhibit at Bankside Gallery and at the Royal Academy London Original Print Fair as a member of the Royal Society.
