Open: 18 November 2010 – 31 January 2011
Venue: LCC, Eckersley Gallery, Elephant and Castle, London, SE1 6SB

LCC open their doors to some of the UK’s most exciting creative companies in the form of a continuously changing pop-up shop. The first up to take over the space is bastions of the East London creative scene, JaguarShoes Collective.

The collective produce Exhibitions and bespoke products from the finest creative hands (and minds) working in art, film, fashion, music, publishing and design. The JaguarShoes Collective studio is located in Shoreditch, East London where the close proximity of our related businesses has formed a hub for creative output that draws like-minded people from all over the world.

The businesses in the collective include acclaimed bar and exhibition space DreamBagsJaguarShoes, cafe bar The Old Shoreditch Station, publication PosterPaper, record label BigDirtyEngine and fashion store no-one. They provide many platforms for creative talent, from exhibitions and events to collaborative products.

For their term at LCC they will be showcasing their latest Artist Series collaborations which include works from Chrissie Abbott, Marcus Oakley, Will Sweeney, Matt Furie, Valerie Phillips, Stevie Gee and Jiro Bevis. Each artist will create an installation in one of the large windows in the shop space to highlight their latest product which will be sold in the shop.

An interactive installation from the current exhibitors at DreamBagsJaguarShoes the ‘This is it collective’ will be featured in the shop (see photo above).   Shoppers are invited to pose for a photo which will then be made into a personalised Christmas card which is sure to be a lot of fun.

The shop is open from Monday to Friday 11am – 5pm and will sell a selection of work submitted by LCC students alongside new products from the Jaguar Shoes collective. There will be an ongoing programme of events including artist talks and workshops to accompany the shop.
