Lynda Morris in conversation with Jo Melvin and Gustavo Grandal Montero

Wednesday 4th July
5pm
Old College Library
Chelsea College of Art & Design, 16 John Islip Street, SW1P 4JU

The talk will coincide with the forthcoming exhibition at CHELSEA space, Lynda Morris: Dear Lynda (July 4th-August 4th, private view July 3rd 6-8.30pm) and a display of the Book as artwork archive, part of the Special Collections, at the Old College Library during July.

Lynda Morris: Dear Lynda celebrates the work of the curator over a span of 40 years through an impressive personal archive consisting of catalogues, articles, posters, artworks and ephemera that embody a life in art.

The Book as artwork material, part of the Nigel Greenwood Archive, includes the original correspondence between Germano Celant, Nigel Greenwood and Lynda Morris discussing the preparations for this seminal show and its publication, the original catalogue and its recent 6 Decades reprint, and the issue of Data (no.1, 1971) where Celant’s essay was originally published.

In light of these two correlating events Lynda Morris in conversation with Jo Melvin and Gustavo Grandal Montero will discuss exhibitions, publications and artists within the context of her influential career as a curator and educator.
